Te Rongopae 2025

Hono mai ki tēnei wānanga whakapakari i te tinana me te wairua mō te 14 rā, e aro ana ki ngā mahi rongoa Māori i Aotearoa.

Tomo atu ki te ao tapu o ngā toi whakaora Māori, mā te rumaki i a koe ki roto i te ao o te kaupapa Māori – arā, ko ngā mātāpono me ngā uaratanga Māori. Ka whakaurua koe ki ngā tikanga tuku iho, pēnei i ēnei:

  • Romiromi – he romi hohonu ki te kikokiko, ā-wairua hoki

  • Tiwawe – he tikanga whakatika i te rere o te mauri me te kaha

  • Mahi ā Pona – te mahi ki ngā hononga me ngā kōiwi

  • Mahi Waewae – te whakamahinga rongoā o ngā waewae

  • Mahi Rākau – te whakaora mā ngā taonga tuku iho, pēnei i te rākau

Ka ārahina koe e ngā kairomiromi Māori whai wheako me ngā kaumātua, mā rātou koe e tohutohu, e tuku hoki i te mātauranga tuku iho i raro i te maru o te āhuru mōwai.

Kei roto i tēnei haerenga 14 rā:

  • Te whakangungu katoa mō ngā pūkenga taketake, me ngā taumata tiketike o te romiromi Māori

  • Te rumaki ahurea – ako i te tikanga, te karakia, te waiata, me te reo Māori

  • Te noho tahi ki te marae – ako me te noho i te hapori

  • Te nuinga o ngā kai ka tukuna, ā, ka whakaritea i runga i te tikanga

  • Ngā haerenga ki ngā wāhi tapu, arā, tērā pea ko Te Rerenga Wairua – te wāhi wehenga o te wairua

  • Te wā ki ngā tohunga me ngā kaumātua Māori rongonui, e tuku ana i te mātauranga me ngā kōrero tuku iho nō ngā whakatipuranga maha

Kāore he wheako o mua e hiahiatia ana. He wānanga tēnei e tuwhera ana ki te katoa – ahakoa he tauhou koe ki ngā mahi romiromi, he kai whakaora hoki koe, ka tautokohia koe kia ako mai i te timatanga.


Join us for a transformative 14-day Māori bodywork wānanga (training workshop) in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Step into the sacred world of Māori healing arts with an immersive experience guided by kaupapa Māori (Māori principles and values). This wānanga will introduce you to the traditional practices of:

  • Romiromi – deep tissue and spiritual bodywork

  • Tiwawe – energetic alignment techniques

  • Mahi ā Pona – working with the joints and bones

  • Mahi Waewae – therapeutic use of the feet

  • Mahi Rākau – healing with traditional tools and rākau (wooden implements)

You’ll be guided by experienced Māori practitioners and kaumātua (elders), who will share their mātauranga tuku iho(ancestral knowledge) in a safe and supportive environment.

This 14-day journey includes:

  • Full training in foundational and advanced Māori bodywork techniques

  • Cultural immersion – learn tikanga (customs), karakia (prayers), waiata (songs), and te reo Māori (language)

  • Shared accommodation at a marae (tribal meeting house) – live and learn in a community setting

  • Most meals provided, prepared in accordance with tikanga

  • Sacred site visits, which may include Te Rerenga Wairua (Cape Reinga) – the departing place of spirits

  • Time with respected Māori healers and elders, receiving insights and storytelling passed down through generations

No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is open to all – whether you are new to bodywork or an experienced healer, you will be supported to learn from the ground up.

Standard Price:

$5,500 NZD – applies to all registrations from 1st August 2025 onward

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST/taxes.
